I'm not currently at home and only have my MacBook but give me a few minutes and I'll VPN into my Windows machine to confirm what's already been stated over on the Avast forum. Avast is clearly in no hurry to fix these issues, and given its past behavior this probably won’t be the last time we have to warn users off installing or upgrading the software. Avast Driver Updater scans, updates and fixes your drivers to make your PC work like it should.Avast and AVG are by the same company, and share the same technology, which is why both Avast and AVG users are affected.This is not an officially run community but Avast are nice enough to drop by of their own volition.You may need to update Avast manually - instructions for doing that here I recommend doing the "Manually update the Program" which will ensure both your virus definitions and AV programs are up-to-date.

My Avast shows the last virus defs update as 22:54 UTC. This appears to be already resolved via update - I can't reproduce this issue on a newly installed Google Chrome as of 14 July 2018 22:58 UTC. TL DR: Update Avast, this should resolve the issue.
