I'm not currently at home and only have my MacBook but give me a few minutes and I'll VPN into my Windows machine to confirm what's already been stated over on the Avast forum. Avast is clearly in no hurry to fix these issues, and given its past behavior this probably won’t be the last time we have to warn users off installing or upgrading the software. Some more posts over on the official Avast forum about this: It can automatically fix and update over 127,000 drivers for peak PC and device performance. is a legit Google domain and it would certainly appear at first glance that Avast have erroneously flagged this traffic as phishing. Avast Driver Updater scans, updates and fixes your drivers to make your PC work like it should.Avast and AVG are by the same company, and share the same technology, which is why both Avast and AVG users are affected. This is not an officially run community but Avast are nice enough to drop by of their own volition. You may need to update Avast manually - instructions for doing that here I recommend doing the "Manually update the Program" which will ensure both your virus definitions and AV programs are up-to-date.

To quote an old phrase, "Hello world!" - this is more traffic than this subreddit is used to getting in a month :PĪccording to the official Avast forum this should already be resolved. My Avast shows the last virus defs update as 22:54 UTC. This appears to be already resolved via update - I can't reproduce this issue on a newly installed Google Chrome as of 14 July 2018 22:58 UTC. TL DR: Update Avast, this should resolve the issue.
